Each year students and teachers from the Judith McCarty School of Dancing attend the Texas Association Teachers of Dancing Convention.   Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre classes are conducted daily by some of the most popular dance professionals from across the United States.  In order to become a member teacher in TATD, teachers must pass an examination in ballet, tap or jazz.  

 

During the session, TATD gives scholarships to the outstanding students in each division.  Judith McCarty School of Dancing is proud to have been the home dance school to many of the scholarship winners.  Samantha Barakat, Sarah Emerson, Rachel Thomas, Morgan Harrison, Meredith Mann, Jessica Day  and Kelsey Wren have all been scholarship winners in ballet.  Sarah Barakat and Kristen Hall were finalist in ballet.  Klancy Johnson, Tori Wilson, and Laura Lee Lacy are tap scholarship recipients.  Kelsey Townsend  and Kate Deese were tap finalist.  In the All Around category, Haleigh Kate Wright was a scholarship winner.  Rachel Thomas, Kelsey Wren and Jessica Day are former Merit Scholarship winners.
